Differences vs VIA Connect 2

Key difference - Connect 3 includes dual-WiFi, eliminating the need for creating advanced network configurations.

VIA supports many possible uses for a Wi-Fi module. Most commonly used:

  • Miracast
  • Access Point for AirPlay
  • VIA app

With dual-WiFi, Connect 3 can provide both of these functions simultaneously — without requiring an additional USB Wi-Fi module (VIAcast).

The size is another factor. VIA Connect 2 remains one of the most compact wireless presentation devices available, measuring 74×74×35 mm. While the next-generation device is slightly larger at 90×90×35 mm, it is still a very compact unit.

And the last thing is USB ports on the chassis. 3 × USB 3.0 ports available at VIA Connect 3 vs 2 × USB 3.0 + 1 × USB 2.0 on Connect 2. Yet another improvement.

The price Connect 2 vs Connect 3 remains the same.

Both devices are still available to order. Connect 2 however is soon to be EOL.
